Deze tentoonstelling laat de bezoeker kennismaken met een uitgebreide waaier aan topstukken in tricot, met klemtoon op ontwerperskleding en haar alledaagse interpretatie. Een uitgelezen selectie van internationale en nationale ontwerpers en modehuizen, historische couture stukken en meer gedurfde avant-garde silhouetten van zowel bekende ontwerpers als nieuwkomers op de internationale modesc\u00e8ne zullen worden gecombineerd dom de rijkdom en diversiteit van gebreide kledingstukken in de mode te illustreren.<\/p>\n

De tentoonstelling zal de belangrijkste decennia voor tricot in de mode onder de aandacht brengen, en daarmee de populariteit van tricot aantonen zowel op als naast de catwalk. Hiermee ontrafelt de tentoonstelling de veranderende status van de relatie tussen mode en breiwerk. Thematisch zullen de verschillende rollen die tricot heeft gespeeld in sociale en mode(r)evoluties worden behandeld, met aandacht voor de connotatie van breiwerk met comfort, welzijn, gezondheid en elegantie.<\/p>\n

In samenwerking met Cousy, \u00e9\u00e9n van de laatste Belgische breigoedbedrijven actief in de modesector, presenteren het MoMu en Woolmark met Ontrafel. Tricot in de Mode een mix van hedendaagse en klassieke modehuizen, installaties van jonge ontwerpers en historische stukken. De tentoonstelling stelt gevestigde idee\u00ebn over breigoed in vraag en toont zo dat tricot, verre van ouderwets, veelzijdig en luxueus is, en een blijvende inspiratiebron voor de modewereld.<\/p>\n

Met werk van o.a. Ann Salens, Vivienne Westwood, Maison Martin Margiela, Sonia Rykiel, Missoni, Elsa Schiaparelli, Patou, Chanel, Sandra Backlund, Andr\u00e9 Courr\u00e8ges, Bodymap, Bernhard Willhelm, Yohji Yamamoto en Mark Fast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
